In a single chamber, two-orifice air valve, aeration both aeration and venting is performed automatically in the main and sub- lines in water supply networks. Also, the passage of fluid itself causes the operation of the air valve. Large orifice is used to aerate and vent of large volumes of air when filling the line on start –up and releasing the line on shut- down .The small orifice is used to release the collected air when the line is under working pressure.
