The coupling can be used to connect the pipe below or above ground level by observing the following technical specifications. By using the water coupling system, there will be no need for threading, beveling, welding or flanging the pipe end and the problems caused by the contraction and longitudinal expansion in the pipes on this fitting will be eliminated.
Product features:
- No need for special tools and facilities for installation.
- Can be installed in any weather conditions and in narrow trenches.
- No need for bonding, welding, beveling and threading pipes.
- High speed of installation and assembly.
- Suitable for all types of PVC, GRP, DUCTILE, STEEL pipes.
- No need to specify the exact position for installation.
- There will be no need to any bends(elbow) when using this coupling along a curved path.
- Compensation the effects of temperature changes with linear motion.
- Reduce the need for Joints
- Insulated against sound and vibration for the distance between the coupling and the pipe as well as the sealing rubber .
- Can be used to transmit water, gas, oil, petrochemicals, sewage and …
- Can be used for pipes from 50 mm to 5000 mm in diameter.
- Capable to move or rotate in a section of the pipeline.
- Allowed tolerance of 11 mm (+5, -6 mm) for the outer diameter of the pipes.
- Angular flexibility according to the table below in accordance with AWWA C219 standard.
Corrosion Protection:
Electrostatic Epoxy Powder Coating with min 250 µm thickness, certified by reputable international institutions for potable water.
The effect of temperature on the coupling:
The coupling temperature performance depends on the type of rubber gasket (sealing gasket) used in it and can be used up to 100 ° C. The coupling operates at a relatively constant temperature with maximum efficiency. If thermal turbulence occurs, the coupling screws need to be readjusted. Therefore, the coupling cannot be used in places such as central heating with high temperature changes.
Stress Reduction in System.
- Rubber gaskets absorb sound and vibrations.
- The distance between two ends of the pipes can be used as a vibration absorber.
- Due to the above characteristics, different types of couplings can be used as vibrator absorber in pumping stations and along the pipe.
Pipe Coatings:
Some pipes are covered with a coating layer for protection, which increases the outer diameter of the pipe, in which case the coupling can also be used, and for using , it is necessary to chip a thin layer of the protective coating, The pipes should then be re-painted and ready to be installed for cathodic and corrosion protection .It should be noted that the protective layer must be removed only a short distance from the ends of pipes and if protective wires are used for cathodic protection of pipes, Nahrabab Gostar Eshtehard Company is able to provide suitable couplings in proportion to of pipes shapes. Therefore, we must be aware of the final diameter of the pipes, i.e. the outer diameter of the pipe plus the thickness of the coating or protective layer.
Chemical resistance:
The chemical resistance of the coupling is determined by the strength of the metal surface and the rubber material and the inner surface of the coupling.
Use of couplings for GRP pipes:
Couplings can be used instead of manchoned end to connect GRP pipes in pipelines. The advantages of coupling over manchone is as follows:
When repairing or disconnecting two connected pipes in GRP pipelines, the manchoned end must be broken, while the coupling can be easily opened and closed due to the bolting connection.
Resin (adhesive) and fiber welding methods are used to implement GRP pipelines, but the coupling connection is used both above and under ground .The angular flexibility of the coupling is greater than the angular deflection of the manchon end.
installation and assembly speed is faster than manchon.
