In a single chamber, two-orifice air valve both aeration and venting is performed automatically in the main and sub- lines of water in supply networks. Also, the passage of fluid alone causes the operation of the air valve. Large orifice is used to aerate and vent the large volumes of air when filling the line on start –up and releasing the line on shut down . The small orifice is used to release the collected air when the line is under working pressure.
